We’re thrilled to announce that we will be returning to the BBC Proms this September.
Following the success of our last BBC Prom - Berlioz’s opera Benvenuto Cellini in 2019 - we are very excited to be performing once again as part of the world-famous classical music festival in the magnificent Royal Albert Hall.
On Wednesday 1 September, the Monteverdi Choir, English Baroque Soloists and John Eliot Gardiner will showcase a programme of youthful choral works by Handel and Bach. The renowned Handelian singer Ann Hallenberg will join the Monteverdi ensembles for Handel’s Donna che in ciel, which will be heard alongside his psalm setting Dixit Dominus, and Bach’s virtuosic elaboration of Martin Luther’s Easter hymn Christ lag in Todesbanden.
As well as live on BBC Radio 3, our Prom will also be broadcast on BBC4 on Sunday 5 September
