Leave a Legacy
The music of Monteverdi has been performed and enjoyed for over 400 years by countless generations of musicians and audiences. By choosing to leave a Legacy Gift to the Monteverdi Choir & Orchestras, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the performers and listeners of the future will continue to be enthralled by the power of our music-making for years to come.
Types of Legacy Gift
You can support our future work by choosing to leave us a:
- specific gift – you can donate an artwork, for instance
- pecuniary gift – you can specify an amount of money
- residuary gift – you can leave a percentage of the remainder of your estate after other specified legacies and expenses have been provided for.
As we are a registered charity, no inheritance tax would be payable on your gift to us. Making a gift to a charity can also reduce the amount of inheritance tax you pay, depending on the size and complexity of your estate.
How to leave our charity a Legacy Gift
You can leave us a gift by:
- writing a new will and including a gift to our charity
- amending your existing will via a simple Codicil form
- completing a (non-binding) letter of wishes to us and your solicitor for when you next update your will.
Please tell your solicitor that you wish to leave a gift to The Monteverdi Choir and Orchestras Limited (registered charity in England & Wales number 272279).
Let us know about your Legacy Gift
If you have already remembered us with a gift in your will, we would be pleased to hear from you to thank you personally. All communications with us will remain strictly confidential and will not involve you in any binding commitment with our organisation.
For additional information about leaving gifts to a charity in your will, please visit the HMRC website.

“I first became involved in 2001 as a newly appointed trustee. Those closely associated with the Monteverdi ensembles, of whom I am one, want to ensure that they continue to make world-class music to an increasingly global audience. When after a full life you are considering how to bequeath something really worthwhile, why not give a thought to supporting the Monteverdi? I have.” John Skinner, supporter and Director, American Friends of the Monteverdi Choir & Orchestras, Inc.
