Introducing our new Apprentices for the 2019/20 season

Following a rigorous selection process, overseen by principals from the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique, these outstanding young string players will now spend a year embedded within the ORR - in the period instrument orchestra’s 30th anniversary year - and will participate in all major projects, most notably Beethoven’s complete symphony cycle and, later in the season, his Missa Solemnis at some of Europe’s most prestigious music festivals.

Augmenting these orchestral projects will be a series of intensive chamber music workshops and masterclasses led by experts in their field, covering a wide range of repertoire and musical techniques. Supported by a dedicated team of mentors from the Monteverdi ensembles, and overseen by Sir John Eliot Gardiner, our new Apprentices could not have a better springboard towards the next step in their careers. We look forward to working with them over the next twelve months.
