Mon 4 Mar, 6.00pm
Messums Wiltshire, Tisbury, UK
A unique opportunity to see the future stars of the choral world performing alongside singers from the internationally renowned Monteverdi Choir.
Tickets: £15, with an optional £25 dinner supplement
Join the Monteverdi Apprentices and members of the Monteverdi Choir, under the guidance of Sir John Eliot Gardiner, for a showcase recital in the stunning surroundings of the recently-restored thirteenth-century tithe barn at Messums Wiltshire, followed by an optional 2-course dinner and drinks.
This presentation in a haven of rural tranquillity will be the culmination of a four-day residency at nearby Springhead – John Eliot Gardiner’s childhood home. The nine Apprentices will have worked closely with their mentors on a range of choral repertoire – ranging from folk songs to improvisation, via Baroque, Classical and Romantic music – and will present a selection of these works-in-progress over the course of the evening.
Messums Wiltshire is a pioneering multi-purpose gallery and arts centre which offers artists a unique space in which to engage with the creative endeavour. The landscape surrounding the barn is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and provides an inspirational backdrop for visitors to a year round programme of exhibitions, events, workshops and performances: we are delighted that our Apprentices will have the opportunity to showcase their own artistic talents in this remarkable historic space.
