Cyrille Dubois

Cyrille Dubois discovered singing at the Maîtrise de Caen as a sopranist. After scientific studies, he entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in the classroom of Alain Buet, and continued at the Atelier Lyrique of Paris National Opera. In 2015 he was awarded ‘Opera Singer Discovery of the year’ at the French Victoires de la Musique.

Very quickly he was invited to perform on famous stages such as La Scala, Milan (Nathanaël/Les Contes d’Hoffman), La Monnaie, Brussles (Azor/La Dispute by Benoît Mernier), Théâtre des Champs-Élysées (Count Almaviva/Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Glyndebourne Opera Festival (Gonzalve/L’Heure Espagnole), Opernhaus Zürich (title role in Hippolyte et Aricie) and many more.

In 2010 Cyrille Dubois founded ‘Duo Contraste’ with the pianist Tristan Raës, and went on to win the Lili and Nadia Boulanger Competition and the 2013 Lyon 9th Chamber Music International Competition. They are invited to perform on famous European stages, and have recorded ‘Clairères dans le ciel’, a programme dedicated to musicians of the Great War (Hortus Editions 2014) and ‘O Lieb!’, dedicated to Liszt (Aparté, Autumn 2019). Cyrille Dubois also collaborates with Anne Le Bozec, Jeff Cohen, Michel Dalberto and Nicolas Stavy.

On the concert stage he has performed under the direction of Thomas Engelbrock (Orchestre de Paris), Laurence Equilbey (Insula Orchestra), Ivor Bolton (Sinfonieorchester Basel), Raphaël Pichon (Ensemble Pygmalion), Christophe Rousset (Les Talens Lyriques) and Philippe Jordan (Vienna Symphony Orchestra).

In the 2020-21 season, Cyrille Dubois is invited to perform Marzio in Mitridate (Les Musiciens du Louvre/Marc Minkowski), Tamino in The Magic Flute (Paris National Opera), Count Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia for his debut at the Vienna State Opera, Ferrando in Cosi Fan Tutte (Wallonie Royal Opera in Liège), Pâris in La Belle Helene (Théâtre des Champs-Elysées & Lille Opera), his first Fenton in Falstaff (Opernhaus Zürich) as well as numerous concerts and various recordings.
