In memory of Kevin Lavery

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our dear friend and supporter Kevin Lavery – who died peacefully in hospital on Sunday 22 October.

Kevin loved music and was a devoted supporter of Monteverdi Choir & Orchestras and our record label SDG, generously giving much of his time and energy to further our projects and music-making. He will be profoundly missed.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones at this sad time.

‘In so many ways Kevin Lavery was the model director of a musical charity such as ours: a tremendous lover of music, an indefatigable and generous supporter of the Monteverdi Choir and its twin orchestras, and a wise counsel on matters of business. As a director of our record label SDG over many years he singlehandedly set up our royalty payment systems with incredible precision, working countless hours pro bono. His enthusiasm for each new artistic venture was palpable and heartening, and I shall treasure his written impressions and assessments of the concerts he attended both here and abroad. He was the most delightful company and we shall miss him sorely.’
