We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen.
On behalf of John Eliot Gardiner and all of us at the Monteverdi Choir & Orchestras, we send our thoughts and sincere condolences to His Majesty The King, our Patron, and all the Royal Family at this sad time. We join the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, and the rest of the world in mourning this loss.
We are humbled and honoured that we were able to perform Beethoven’s Missa solemnis at the BBC Proms on Wednesday 7 September 2022. We hope this performance was able to bring comfort to members of the public both live at the Proms and in the coming days following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

John Eliot Gardiner will be dedicating the concert at the Wratislavia Cantans Festival in Wroclaw, Poland on 12 September 2022 to the late Queen Elizabeth II and to the new King Charles III.
