Timothy Edlin
English Bassbaritone Timothy Edlin started his musical education as a chorister in Canterbury Cathedral before later studying at the Royal College of Music in London. Between 2019-2021 he was a member of the OpernStudio NRW (North Rhine Westphalia), he performed principle roles in opera houses including: Theater Dortmund, Aalto Theater Essen, Oper Wuppertal and Gelsenkirchen Musiktheater Im Revier. Starting the 2025-26 season, he will join the ensemble at Stadttheater Bremerhaven while alongside performing other international engagements.
Operatic roles in the season ahead include; The King & the Cook For the Love of Three Oranges, Doctor Grenvil La Traviata, Capellio I Capuleti e i Montecchi and Judge Turpin Sweeney Todd with Stadttheater Bremerhaven. He will also be making his debut with Musik Theater an der Wien with the roles of Timagene from Handel‘s Poro, as well as Das Portrait from Martinu‘s Twice Alexander.
As a concert and recital soloist, Edlin has performed numerous prestigious venues including Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, Palau de la Música Barcelona, and the Philharmonie Essen, as well as appearing live on Radio 3 from the BBC studios. A recent winner of the Salvat Beca Bach competition, he has also performed with Masaaki Suzuki at the Bachcelona Festival. Timothy is also an active song and lieder recital artist, with appearances at the Three Palace Festival in Malta, Deal Festival for the Arts, and the Lichfield Festival.
