John Findon - Sir Huon of Bordeaux

British tenor John Findon has earned widespread critical acclaim for his recent performances both at home and abroad. Last season, he sang the title role in Peter Grimes at Opera North, made his US debut as Lennie Small in Of Mice and Men and appeared as Don José in Carmen at English National Opera. On the concert platform, he joined the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra for Tippett’s A Child of Our Time and later this summer, he returns to Scotland to perform Mahler’s Das Klagende Lied at the Edinburgh International Festival. Other concert highlights included Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Berlioz’s Requiem with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Upcoming engagements include house debuts at Teatro La Fenice as Laca in Jenůfa and Opéra national de Lorraine as Erik in Der fliegende Holländer, alongside a return to Teatro di San Carlo in the title role of Peter Grimes. Next summer, he returns to Glyndebourne Festival Opera and makes his debut at Santa Fe Opera. On the concert platform, he performs Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde with The Royal Ballet, Siegmund in Die Walküre with Staatsorchester Stuttgart, and Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and the Ulster Orchestra.
