Composed just over 20 years ago, Tavener's magnum opus, The Veil of the Temple was created to awaken the spiritual side in everyone. This vast piece is sung in five languages and inspired by multiple world religions. In a unique performance at Edinburgh International Festival's opening concert, The Monteverdi Choir, conducted by Jonathan Sells will join a rare vocal communion, performing the magnificent work in eight cycles with brief pauses, offering a once-in-a-life-time experience.
