We are very excited to announce that on Friday 4 March, our critically-acclaimed performance of Bach’s St John Passion was released by Deutsche Grammophon on CD and Blu-ray disc.
This recording of Bach’s great choral masterwork was filmed in the ornate setting of Oxford’s historic Sheldonian Theatre and lived streamed via DG Stage on Good Friday 2021. The Monteverdi Choir (singing from memory), English Baroque Soloists and John Eliot Gardiner are joined by a cast of exceptional young soloists - a new and exciting generation of British Bach singers including Nick Pritchard (Evangelist) and William Thomas (Christus).
The album is a deluxe edition consisting of 2 CDs and a Blu-ray disc, which offers the audio recording and the film of the performance in various sound formats, including the immersive Dolby Atmos.
