To conclude our Monteverdi 450 celebrations we were privileged to perform in the Raphael Cartoons Gallery at the Victoria & Albert Museum on Friday 15 December.
Sir John Eliot Gardiner, English Baroque Soloists, Monteverdi Choir and our cast of international soloists performed highlights from the trilogy tour as part of the V&A’s Opera: Passion, Power and Politics exhibition.
This concluding concert was MCO’s only London performances of the trilogy during 2017. The evening also marked 50 years since John Eliot Gardiner first conducted at the V&A with his newly formed Monteverdi Choir to mark the Venetian master’s 400th anniversary in 1967.
