SKILLS, PRACTICE and RECRUITMENT of European musicians for tomorrow AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT in classical music
Monteverdi Choir and Orchestras is excited to announce its participation in the SPREAD project, in partnership with:
Mahler Academy (Bolzano, IT)
Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra (Vienna, AU)
Gezeitenkonzerte chamber music festival (Aurich, DE)
The project aims to establish a Europe-wide training network for young musicians and help them become the best professional orchestra players of the future.
The partners will join forces to expose the most talented young musicians of the EU Member States and European neighbours to master classes with internationally renowned musicians with different musical backgrounds from large symphonic orchestras, to chamber orchestras and chamber music.
From 29th July to 6th August 2016, six members of the English Baroque Soloists and Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique will be coaching the students of the Mahler Academy in period instrument performance, using repertoire primarily centred around J.S. Bach.
The musicians involved in 2016 are:
- Kati Debretzeni: violin (leader of the EBS)
- Alison Bury: violin
- Anne Schumann: violin
- David Watkin: cello
- Michael Niesemann: oboe
- Oliver-John Ruthven: harpsichord and organ
This project is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
